“New York Police Officer Saves Man From Opiate Overdose”
In Ulster County in August, a Department of Environmental Protection Police (DEPP) officer, Kenneth Anson, responded to a 911 dispatch for a 37-year old unconscious man. Officer Anson administered CPR and two doses of the opioid overdose reversal medication, naloxone (Narcan). New York State Police officers administered two more doses of naloxone as CPR was continued. The man was revived and regained consciousness.
Officer Anson is a U.S. Army veteran who served in Germany from 1986-1994. He received a citation for his actions.
